Tollywood, Kollywood Score over Bollywood In new Lok Sabha

It was stars galore in the new Lok Sabha (Lower House of Parliament) too as in the previous House -- but this time film actors from Bengal and Tamil Nadu appeared to have scored over their Bollywood counterparts.

Yesteryear's actress Jaya Prada, who has returned for another term as a Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament (MP) after winning a bitterly fought election from Rampur, took oath as a member of the House on Tuesday.

However, the 15th Lok Sabha will miss a number of prominent Bollywood faces who were there last time -- Govinda, Raj Babbar, Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna.

Several cinestars from Tollywood and South India have come to the new House to take their place -- 'Lady Amitabh' Vijay Shanti, Tamil actor K Sivakumar and Bengali filmstars Tapas Pal and Shatabdi Roy are prominent among them. 'Bihari Babu' Shatrughan Sinha is there too.

Sinha was to take oath with new members from Bihar yesterday, but he was found missing when his name was called out. He finally took oath on Tuesday.

The Patna Saheb MP, known for his ready wit, had the House in splits as he walked towards the Speaker's chair instead of stopping near the microphones to take oath.

Clad in a pink designer shirt, khaki trousers and jacket, Sinha then realised his mistake and turned back.
