Justin Gaston may be the boyfriend of Disney star Miley Cyrus, but the musician-model’s own career hasn’t been all PG.
“It’s not something my mom would be proud of,” he told Details’ June/July 2009 issue of a photo shoot he did for underwear maker International Jock in figure-hugging briefs.
However, the deeply religious Justin, 20, wants to rise above people’s opinions, showing off a tattoo with a message that runs into his backside.
“It’s Psalm 7:8, ‘Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness,’” Justin said of his body ink. “I don’t want to be judged — so I put it on my body in an attempt to become that bold.”
And as for tabloid rumors centered on him, the star said he’s not living with his young girlfriend.
“No! I live in an apartment in North Hollywood with two guys!” he said.
Still, Justin’s profile has been raised by his connection to Miley, who he met after being befriended by her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, during his brief appearance on reality competition “Nashville Star.”
Now firmly in the spotlight, Justin doesn’t mind the added interest.
“I like attention,” he said, adding if he could be anything, he’d be “one of those little lapdogs that gets petted all day. You know, they wake up, get fed, get attention. I’d like to be one of those little dogs. Is that weird?”

The shanty home of another “Slumdog Millionaire” child star was torn down by Mumbai authorities Wednesday as they demolished part of a city slum where she lived.
Munni Qureshi — the stepmother of 9-year-old Rubina Ali, who portrayed a young Latika, the Oscar-winning film’s heroine — said her husband was beaten by police who were supervising the demolition. She said he was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
“How can the police barge in anytime without giving us notice,” Qureshi said, as she wept holding her forehead. Neighbors poured water over her to keep her cool as she sat in the scorching summer sun with Rubina.
“Slumdog Millionaire” won eight Oscars and brought in more than $326 million, but it has done little so far to improve the lives of the film’s two impoverished child stars, Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina.
Dozens of police with bamboo batons walked around the alley where Rubina’s house is located and supervised demolition crews of young men wielding sledgehammers and metal rods who tore down the shanty homes.
Last week, bulldozers demolished Azhar’s home in a similar cleanup drive in a different part of the same slum. By Wednesday temporary homes had already sprung up in the area. His family tied blankets and sheets of blue and yellow tarpaulin to a wooden frame to create a shelter.
Slums destroyed because they are illegal or are in the way of city development plans often resurface. Government promises of housing are not often met and when slum-dwellers are given homes, it is often in poor-quality buildings on the outskirts of cities, far from their jobs.
Rubina and Azhar were discovered on the Mumbai streets by the filmmakers. The film’s adult stars, Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, have since shot to international fame. The lives of the two poor child stars — who live in the slum called Garib Nagar, or the “city of the poor” — haven’t changed much.
“I’m feeling bad,” Rubina told The Associated Press. “My house had been demolished. I’m thinking about where to sleep.”
“Slumdog” filmmakers say they’ve done their best to help the young stars. They set up a trust to ensure the children get proper homes, a decent education and a nest egg when they finish high school. They have also donated $747,500 to a charity to help slum kids in Mumbai.
Producer Christian Colson has described the trust as substantial, but won’t tell anyone how much it contains — not even the children’s parents — for fear of making the youngsters vulnerable to exploitation.

Things are moving forward with new homes for “Slumdog Millionaire” child stars Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, Danny Boyle told reporters in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday.
The two children and their families have been homeless since the recent bulldozing of their previous residences, which caused international headlines.
“It’s obviously a terrible concern,” Danny said, according to Reuters. “The trust is making progress in making sure they have good, solid, legal accommodation to live in, so that they are not vulnerable to things that happen.”
He reportedly added that a home has been purchased for Azharuddin, with one for Rubina coming shortly.
However, Rubina’s father, Rafiq Qureshi, said that he’s tired of waiting for his share of the Oscar-winning film’s success.
“It has been six months now that we haven’t got any house to live,” he said. “Isn’t it their responsibility to provide them houses?”
Danny and producer Christian Colson previously set up the Jai Ho Trust, named after the song that closes the film, to pay for the education and living expenses of the children until the age of 18.

City authorities demolished the homes around the recently rebuilt shack of “Slumdog Millionaire” child star Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail but left his standing Saturday.
A bulldozer and about 30 men leveled about 18 shanties in the section of the Garib Nagar — “city of the poor” — slum where Azhar, 10, and his family live. They left another dozen partially standing.
Azhar’s was untouched.
The city tore down the same homes, including Azhar’s, 16 days ago. The next week, authorities leveled the nearby lane where “Slumdog” co-star Rubina Ali lived.
By Saturday, most residents in Garib Nagar had finished rebuilding their makeshift shacks, often by taking out high-interest loans from local moneylenders.
Azhar’s father, Mohammed Ismail, said their home was spared because authorities knew about his son’s role in the Oscar-winning movie.
“Azhar has got an award. They respect that. I appreciate it. When they first demolished our house, they didn’t know,” Ismail said as he sat in the shack, recently tacked together from sheets of cheap metal, torn tarpaulins and blankets.
The state’s top official on Friday granted government apartments to both Azhar and Rubina, paid for with funds from the local chapter of the ruling Congress party. “Slumdog” filmmakers have also promised them homes. The families are now trying to figure out if they’ll be able to keep both.
Azhar said he’d like two apartments — one for himself and one for his parents — but also wants all his neighbors to get houses too.
“Before giving me a home, they should give it to my friends,” he said.
Eight-year-old Mahejbin Qureshi stood near a pile of broken boards and bent nails, all that remained of her home after a bulldozer shoved it into the fetid river that runs through Garib Nagar.
“They broke my home,” she said, tears streaming down her face as she held her baby brother in her arms.
U.D. Mistry, an official with the city’s Bombay Municipal Corporation, said the huts were destroyed because they were illegal. He said Azhar’s was spared because his family can prove they lived in Garib Nagar before 1995, which gives them some property rights.
Mistry said the city has no plans to provide homes to any other residents.
“There is no policy to relocate them because these huts are illegal,” he said.
But neighbors say they too have proof of residence before 1995.
“I have a ration card. My name is on the electoral rolls. I have electricity bills,” said a distraught Sayeda Abdulrahman Shaikh, a 30-year-old mother of five. “I showed them, but they destroyed my house anyway.”
Like many of the children of Garib Nagar, her son Salman, 12, was an extra in “Slumdog Millionaire.”
“We worked with Azhar. If they are getting houses, why not me?” Salman asked, sweating in the hot sun. “We are being ignored.”

Exoplanet Phases Seen in Optical Light :-
For the first time, astronomers have observed the phases of an extrasolar planet in visible light, as the world orbits around its star.
The planet, CoRoT-1b, was the first planet discovered by the French CoRoT (Convection Rotation and Planetary Transit) satellite about 2.5 years ago. It is about 1,600 light years away in the constellation Monoceros.>
CoRoT-1b is a so-called "hot Jupiter." These planets are the size of Jupiter but orbit very closely to their stars (CoRoT-1b orbits its star in just 36 hours). Hot Jupiters are expected to be tidally locked, with one side always facing their stars, the other permanently dark (our own moon is tidally locked with the Earth, only showing its "near side" to us).
If these planets do have permanent daysides and nightsides, astronomers expect to see very large temperatures differences between the two hemispheres, depending on which one was in view from Earth's vantage point.
Astronomers had taken infrared measurements of these light and dark phases, but the CoRoT-1b measurements mark the first time they have been seen in the optical wavelengths, and they show that the nightside of the planet is completely dark, while the dayside is strongly heated by the star up to about 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit (2,000 degrees Celsius).
"So we see a very large difference between the dayside and the nightside," said study author Ignas Snellen of Leiden University in the Netherlands.
The measured effect is very much like the changing phases of objects in our own solar system, such as Earth's moon, when the sun shines on the moon from different directions while the moon revolves around the Earth. Although in the case of our moon this is reflected sun-light, while for CoRoT-1b it is probably heat radiation.
The observations, detailed in the May 28 issue of the journal Nature, also shed light on the atmosphere of the exoplanet and suggest that there is not a lot of transfer of heat from the dayside to the nightside of the planet. Another observed exoplanet had less of a heat difference between its two sides, suggesting that wind was transporting the incoming solar energy, but "for this planet, that is apparently not the case," Snellen told SPACE.com.
Instead, CoRoT-1b may have certain molecules in its atmosphere that absorb and re-radiate the light coming from the star on the dayside before that energy can be transferred to the other side of the planet.
Optical observations can also tell astronomers whether or not any of the light they are seeing is reflected starlight, which would suggest the exoplanet had clouds. Unfortunately, the researchers could not tell if any of the light from CoRoT-1b was reflected, Snellen said.
To determine whether or not the light is reflected, the astronomers will need observations of the planet at multiple wavelengths, Snellen said.
Snellen and his colleagues have already started to look at observations of other exoplanets to glean more information on the phases and atmospheres of hot Jupiters
Close-up Look at Black Hole Reveals Feeding Frenzy:-
Astronomers are getting a close-up look at a cosmic eating machine: a spinning black hole that devours the mass equivalent of two Earths per hour, verging on the limit of its feeding ability.
Supermassive black holes can weigh as much as a billion suns or more and are thought to reside at the centers of most, if not all, large galaxies. Their gravity is so powerful it traps even light, making black holes invisible. Their presence is inferred by watching the motions of stars and gas around them, along with the radiation that's generated in their frenzied vicinities.
The behemoth of interest in the new close-up study, which will be published in the May 28 issue of the journal Nature, lies at the center of a distant active galaxy known as 1H0707-495. Using data from the European Space Agency's XMM-Newton observatory, astronomers analyzed X-rays emitted during the black hole's feeding frenzy.
As matter swirls in toward a black hole, gravity makes it travel at significant fractions of light-speed. That generates X-rays and other radiation that can give astronomers information about the spin of the black hole and its size, among other details.
In this case, the astronomers say they are tracking matter that's within twice the radius of the black hole itself.
Specifically, the XMM-Newton detections suggested the galaxy's core is much richer in iron than the rest of the galaxy. In addition, there was a time lag of 30 seconds between changes in the X-ray light observed directly and those seen in its reflection from the disk. From this delay, the astronomers estimate the black hole weighs about 3 million to 5 million solar masses – modest by supermassive black hole standards.
The team will continue to track the galaxy and map out the accreting process of this supermassive black hole. Far from being a steady process, like muddy water slipping down a plughole, a feeding black hole is a messy eater.
"Accretion is a very messy process because of the magnetic fields that are involved," said study scientist Andrew Fabian of the University of Cambridge.
Hidden Radio Supernova Finally Found :-
An elusive supernova explosion, detectable only in radio wavelengths, was discovered last month in the nearby galaxy M82.
The object, dubbed SN 2008iz, is the closest supernova discovered by scientists in the past five years. It would have been visible even to amateur telescopes, were it not for the dense gas and dust surrounding the exploding star, which left it invisible in every part of the spectrum except the radio wavelengths.
The supernova's home galaxy, M82, is an irregular galaxy in a nearby galaxy group located 12 million light-years from Earth.
Despite being smaller than the Milky Way, it harbors a vigorous central starburst in the inner few hundred light-years. In this stellar factory more stars are presently born than in the entire Milky Way.
M82 is often called an "exploding galaxy," because it looks as if being torn apart in optical and infrared images as the result of numerous supernova explosions from massive stars. Many remnants from previous supernovas are seen in radio images of M82, and a new supernova explosion was long overdue.
Astronomers have been waiting to catch the next big blast for more than 25 years and had started to wonder why the galaxy has been so silent in recent years. In the end, it took a little digging and looking in the right wavelengths.
The new discovery was first made when Andreas Brunthaler of the Max-Planck-Institut fur Radioastronomie in Bonn, Germany, examined data from April 8 with the Very Large Array (VLA) of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, an interferometer of 27 identical 25-meter telescopes in New Mexico.
"I then looked back into older data we had from March and May last year, and there it was as well, outshining the entire galaxy!" Brunthaler said.
Radio emission can be detected only from core collapse supernovas, where the core of a massive star collapses and produces a black hole or a neutron star. It is produced when the shock wave of the explosion propagates into dense material surrounding the star, usually material that was shed from the massive progenitor star before it exploded.
But observations of M82 taken last year with optical telescopes to search for new supernovas showed no signs of this explosion. The supernova is also hidden on ultraviolet and X-ray images.
The supernova exploded close to the center of the galaxy in a very dense interstellar environment, which could explain why M82 has been silent for so long: many of these events may actually be something like "underground explosions," where the bright flash of light is covered under huge clouds of gas and dust and only radio waves can penetrate this dense material.
"This cosmic catastrophe shows that using our radio telescopes we have a front-row seat to observe the otherwise hidden universe," said Heino Falcke of the University of Nijmegen/ASTRON.
By combining data from the 10 telescopes of the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), the VLA, the Green Bank Telescope in the USA, and the Effelsberg 100-meter telescope in Germany, using the technique of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), the team was able to produce images that show a ring-like structure expanding at more than 40 million km/h or 4 percent of the speed of light, typical for supernovae.
The team estimates that the supernova exploded in late January or early February 2008. Only three months after the explosion, the ring was already 650 times larger than Earth's orbit around the sun.
Priyanka Chopra plays a double role for the first time in the futuristic Love Story 2050 and the two characters are starkly different.
Rowena, producer-director Harry Baweja's daughter, who's assisting her father on Love Story 2050, is effusive in her praise for Priyanka. The actress came to Baweja's rescue when Kareena Kapoor walked out of the film, reports Bollywood Trade.
"Priyanka was elated and she jumped at the offer. It was a challenging role for her since her character goes through a spectrum of changes. The audience will get to see two very different sides of her personality in the film. She has pulled off both the characters with élan," said Rowena.
Priyanka's get-ups are diametrically different in the film.
"One part has her playing a mellow, coy, next door kind of girl while the other one is very outlandish, loud and headstrong. She's brilliant in both of them and I am sure her fans will love it."
Shot in Adelaide, South Australia, the film, which is loosely based on H.G. Wells' Time Machine, is a futuristic science fiction loaded with special effects.
"It's a sci-fi love story that travels through time. As the title implies, the film is set in 'present' and 'future'. It is a romantic love story blended with science fiction and this unique combination of both the genres is the USP of the film.
"It's the first of its kind probably," said Rowena, adding, "A lot of computer graphics will be used to create Mumbai 2050. Oscar winner John Cox has worked on the animatronic robot Boo that we have used in the film."
Rowena elucidated the need for the robot in the film.
"Boo is Priyanka's companion in the film. He is her pet who talks to her, who does everything a human being can and who is someone every girl dreams of having."
Her brother Harman makes his debut with the sci-fi movie. "Harman too has an interesting character to play. We have carefully outlined his role and hopefully the audience will connect with his character in the first 10 minutes itself," she said.
Rowena says it's her most exciting experience to date. Seventy percent of the shooting is complete and they are tentatively planning to release it in August.
"Very few have dealt with romantic sci-fi films. There's so much to explore when you're making a futuristic film. We are slogging really hard and I sincerely hope people enjoy watching it as much as we did making it. I am sure people would be curious to know how Mumbai would look in 2050."
Rowena admits that the film got delayed for various reasons but refuses to divulge the details.
The background music has been scored by Salim-Suleiman along with Anu Malik, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
Priyanka Chopra's house robbed
Just as Priyanka Chopra was letting her hair down to enjoy the attentions of stars like Shahid Kapur and Hollywood celeb Gerard Butler, her peace of mind was shattered.
Reports claim that Priyanka's house in Versova, Mumbai, was robbed by her domestic help.
It all began when Priyanka's parents noticed that some of the cash they had kept aside for monthly payments was missing. They called all the domestic help and questioned them, but to no avail.
The Chopras decided to call the police, and that was when one of the helpers confessed.
Reports say that Priyanka hasn't lodged a complaint since the man returned the money, but he was of course dismissed from his duties.

He went on to say, "She [Kareena] has almost completed her dubbing and he [Shahid], too, has dubbed some portions and will finish his work shortly." Even Kareena's secretary backs up the claims of the two stars finishing the film.
Another interesting tidbit, is that we hear Kareena also keeps tabs on her ex, and most recently displayed a keen interest in Shahid's rumored new love, Priyanka Chopra. Now we don't know if all that's true, but wouldn't it be interesting if it was?! Designer Shabina Khan who is a friend of both says it's not true however, and that Kareena and Shahid are just cordial with each other, but that's where it ends. Hmm... we kind of have to agree with her on that part. The way Kareena and current beau Saif Ali Khan display their love, it would be kind of hard to imagine her still being hung up on her ex!
